Match report Eden was made captain, won the toss and put West Essex in to bat. One of their openers was run out, backing up, off the first ball. We took another wicket fairly quickly before we decided to let their opener have another chance – so he could face a ball. As it happens this was not the best decision as he then batted through most of the innings! Extras were the top scorer, the umpires being fiercely correct with wides. Dominic took a fantastic catch low down to his right from a well struck cover drive off Harry’s bowling. Adam bowled well with a maiden in his two overs. Patrick kept well, and we fielded well .West Essex scored 88 for 3.

Ben and Adam opened the batting and we scored fairly quickly as well as being supported by plenty of extras. Ben was out (for 6) and Eden joined Adam. Adam and Eden put on quite a few runs before Eden was out and Patrick went in. Adam continued steadily and was retired on 28. Patrick was joined by Dominic and Patrick was caught (FOR10) going for a six with just 2 runs needed – a lesson learnt! Harry went in but didn’t face a ball. We had won with only one more ball!!! 90 for 4.

A nice team performance, every had fun and we played well. Well captained Eden!

Our Man – of – the – Match was Adam, for his 28 NO, excellent bowling and good fielding. Well done Adam!
