Match report Fives U13 team batted superbly on the way to a comfortable 66 run win over rivals and unbeaten leaders Old Parks . The boys achieved the highest total in the league so far this season and quite honestly in my time at the club I have never seen a better batting display at any age group . William and skipper Harry set the tone with an astonishing understanding of how to keep rotating the strike and we were in our mid 40s after 4 overs with only one boundary scored . With Harry retired early in the 5th over Tom joined William to keep our exceptional run rate going . Opener Buttleman retired after another classy knock to leave Jack Dennis joining Kelsey . Toms great form with the bat continued and he to was retired in no time after some very strong shots . A special mention to jack who really helped the innings grow through firstly a good understanding with Kelsey and then helping no. 5 Isaru and 6 Viraj selflessly try to get the team to a high total . With Dennis retired after a super knock and losing our last two bats , Samuel and Buttleman returned to score 18 off the last 4 balls and for fives to reach a massive 156 for 2 . After losing their opener in Williams first over of off spin it was always going to be hard for Old Parks . Isaru bowled well and with a second clean bowled by Buttleman in the third over it was left to Samuel and Kelsey to come on and stem the run rate which they did well with a wicket a piece and a run out coming in the spell . U11 Viraj came on and bowled with beautiful control and another sharp run out wrapped the innings up for 90 in the 10th over . Old parks made a fair effort and their run rate was good but an outstanding batting display had really put the game beyond their control already .
The boys have 4 games left and with this level of performance continued this season we have much hope that success could be at the end of it .
