Match report Fives turned in what hopefully is a league winning performance beating rivals wanstead by 64 runs .
The spirit of the team stood out and the boys showed incredible character to win after a disastrous start .
Winning the toss and batting , skipper Harry run himself out without facing and Tom was bowled second ball leaving us 3 for 2 after 1 over . Jack joined William and both batted really maturely to build a base for the team to recover . With both boys retired billy amas and Isuru put a wonderful partnership together , running really well and placing the ball they scored off almost every delivery faced .
It was fantastic to see the boys take centre stage and really stand up to the job , they both selflessly fell just short of retirement to leave jack and William the final two overs . Losing jack to a run out William ended the innings with 6 and 4 seeing him past 50 unbeaten . A marvellous effort by the two lads saw fives post 156 for 5 .
Wansteads openers started well but you could see the fives lads would not let the game go . After the oppositions two retirements we started to break them down , Kelsey bowled beautifully and took two wickets , two run outs , one for Isuru - who had a terrific game and the last for Harry saw the opposition bowled out for 92 .
Of particular note was the spirit showed throughout the team when the retired bats returned . The last two overs were pretty unplayable , Kelsey having one opener caught behind by Buttleman who then took a fine stumping off samuel for the other to wrap victory up .
A fine performance lads well done .
