Match report Fives won an important toss with a bowler down. OJ, Keith and Neary contributed the bulk of the runs as the side posted 91 using all but three balls. The running between the wickets very good and at least 10-15 runs pinched.
Unfortunately the bowling attack was weak on paper and so this proved on the field. (Keith excepted) Cometh the time, cometh the last minute call up to Portia Blogg (a 13 year old lady spinner), the batsmans eyes lighting up, Sue Blogg sitting in the corner, concerned daughters confidence could be shattered, Nigel the dad relieved the skipper wasnt asking him to bowl and Hugo the brother relieved the skipper was off. Breaths baited, what was the fuss, a very tidy 3 overs resulted in the batters getting caught in between trying to blast it to the back wall and trying to rotate the strike with deft nudges and dabs. Unfortunately, the side lacked at least another front line bowler but we managed to do well to leave WE needing 6 off the last over to which they managed with 2 balls left.
