Match report The batting was a real strength of the match – we were quick off the block with 10 runs off the first over. Louis was caught after boldly swinging for a ball on the turn. The George /Adam partnership made some great runs with some fours and early quick runs between the wickets. Loughton delivered some early straight and pacey bowling that caused issues but we kept our composure. Adam was run-out during one of these bold plays. Next Joseph came to the crease – with the small of victory due to an early run total, the team were taking chances. It was during one of these that Joseph was run out. The video umpire – had there been one - might have been called into play as it was a close decision. George was then joined at the crease by Finlay – the partnership took the total runs forward and the pair looked set to take the match to the end, except that after a few more balls it was George’s time to retire (a good innings appreciated by both sides). The pair at the crease was then Finlay and Nyle. Finlay was approaching the ball very confidently but had an unlucky clip on the ball and was out behind.

George was un-retired and took stand with Nyle. The other team changed their batting order an put back in the straightest bowler they had. It was from one of these deliveries that Nyle edged the ball and was caught behind. This left George as last man standing. It was tense, their bowling in the late order was weak but relying on that would not give Fives the 12 runs it needed for victory. With a little confusion as when to run – great support from the team – and a beautiful sweeping four from George victory at 102 runs was sealed.
