Match report Fives 2's ventured out to the picturesque Loughton ground, for the local derby. Sent in to bat we got off to a wonderful start with Braithwaite & Blogg moving along well posting 40 odd runs before Braithwaite was the first to go. A slight stumble was quickly turned around when Blogg & Norris plundered the Loughton attack with the middle order chipping in for the last 16 overs to leave Fives on 260 with the loss of only 7 wickets. Hugo finished on 86 & Gary 67.
Amazingly Greg Summers knocked out the off stump off the very first ball of Loughton's innings & continued to bowl a very hostile 7 overs taking 3 wickets & another retiring hurt. Greg was well supported by james Sibley, Mckay & Coleman. 6pm with 20 overs to go, Loughton poised at 5 for 140, Doig threw the ball to former Italian International Troy Crosland. The 'Prancing Horse' took 3 for 0 off 2 overs to leave Loughton reeling at 8 for 140 & in sudden shock, their only hope was batting out for a draw.
We took the points in a winning draw & now will finish out the season in style.
Fives scorer Sue Blogg was quoted as saying 'All who witnessed it will remember the day The 'Prancing Horse' took 3-0 off 2!
