Match report Shenfield won the toss and chose to bowl.
Our innings got off to a pretty solid start, where the openers coped pretty well on a wicket which offered swing and seam movement early on. The middle order was steady and set us up nicely for a final 15 overs assault, which did not materialise. Our end total was about 20 to 30 runs below par, however on a pitch which offered something to the bowlers it would still take some getting, if we bowled well and held our catches.
Shenfield innings began with a tumbling of wickets, until their captain came to the crease and batted steadily to guide his team home to a one wicket victory.

A spirited display from the entire team, who all kept trying until the very end, which was good to see.
As a first game of the season, it wasn’t a bad effort, even though the end result did not go our way.
A few Colts showed real of promise for the future, namely Tom Williams, David Paris and Malveer Marwa,
Special mention to Jack Dennis, who kept wicket very well , on a wicket that was a bit un-even.
