Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won by 76 runs

Match report Fives batted first and got off to a stunning opening partnership of 44 runs, between Richard Tootell and Tomas Williams. Chris Rotsey then rolled back the years to provide a Captains innings of 75 not out, with excellent support provided from all other batsmen that followed. Fives eventually declaring on 256 for 7, which was a challenging total, but not an impossible one to get, with Fives taking the field with only 10 players.

Wanstead, set their stall out early on in the proceedings of their innings, where a draw seemed to be on their minds, however they did not know what hit them with a devastating spell of bowling from Andre Byfield, which ripped the heart out of their batting. Fives at this stage smelt blood, with the support of the entire team in the field and Chris's aggressive captaincy , Fives were able to wrap up our first victory of the season with five overs remaining. Andre and Wang being the stand out bowlers.
The teams batting efforts, set the platform for our bowlers to go on and win this match, we seem to have learned from past mistakes, brilliant.
Chris with his 75 not out, that held the innings and Andre with his 5 for 49 were my joint man of the match.
