Match report On a boiling hot day, Wanstead won the toss and chose to bat. Their innings got off to a a reasonable start, until in his 3rd over of the day, Will Samuel's produced the ball of the day, a Jimmy Anderson type delivery (you know the one), to clean bowl their dangerous looking opening batsman for 23. After failing to pick up any further early wickets, A new player to the club was introduced into the bowling attack, the rest as the say is history, in the first delivery, Paul Davis took and stunning caught and bowl catch, and went on to complete what must be one of the best debut bowling spell in the history of the club, ending with figures of 6 for 32, from 10 overs, which broke the heart of Wanstead batting line up. Their innings ended at 114 all out, in 32 overs.
What a relief it was to get off the field early, Fives took all their catches and fielded extremely well, backing up their bowlers.
Fives innings got off to a steady start and were never in any real danger, with Roger holding the innings together with his 37 not out. Fives ended up winning by a comfortable 6 wickets.
