Match report Fives bagged another win against Hadleigh & Thundersley which cemented them 11 points clear at the top of DIV 2.
Ballard again seeming to have the luck of the coin recently, won the toss and Fives took the field which has been a familiar occurance so far.
The Hadleigh openers put up some good fight against the swinging ball and reached 41 before chalky removed one of them caught in the slips by Ballard.
As JK said in the dressing room "Its about people coming to the party at the right time" and today was definatly Chalkys time. Every ball he bowled looked like taking a wicket, starting the ball outside leg stump and swinging it to about a yard outside off. The Hadleigh batsmen had no answer to it, and fell like dominoes one after the other. Peters bowled reasonably tight and picked up two wickets and another RED INKER. Fives stuggled to pick up the final wicket for a few overs, however, persistant lines from JK finally payed off and the final wicket was taken.
Chasing 128 for most sides is usually a breeze in the park, but Fives sometimes struggle with smaller totals, maybe seeing the finishing line a little early and losing concentration. After bowling hadleigh out in about the 32nd over, Fives batted straight after for 45 mins hoping to establish a solid base before lunch. This was achieved as Fives managed to get to 40-1. Edwards unluckily watched the ball roll back onto his stumps after the ball hit his pads.
Dan Stevens like Chalky, also came to the party. He played some typical Stinky flowing drives through the offside and saw FIves home after a slight hic up in the middle order.

The positives from this game,

Chalky bowling the perfect spell of bowling that was too good for most batsmen.
Dan looking like he has found some real form and hopefully the runs will come flooding in.

Negatives...

Extras being the highest score.
Some "rash" shots which probably wasnt needed at that time in the game.
