Match report A youthful Sawbridgeworth side batted 1st and struggled against Fives opening bowlers JK & Pete. Backed up by good fielding Fives put a stranglehold on the innings. Sawbo tried to increase the tempo in the 2nd half of the innings but only succumbed to providing Gary with 3 wickets. 3 run outs accounted for the other batsman as Sawbo inexperienced showed to be dismissed for only 60.
This score shouldn’t have provided Fives with too much problem to chase down & so it proved as Fives reached their target inside 7 overs without losing a wicket. TB raced to a quickfire 25 and the 2 Gary's picked off the remaining runs.
A top performance although a sterner test will surely follow in the final V Betteshanger (Kent)
