Match report A good winning draw for the Fives but one which should have resulted in 20 points!

Chingford won the toss and asked us to bat first. Fives batted steadily but we never "got away" form the opposition as we threatened to do so due to the steady fall of wickets throughout the innings, with all of the batsmen getting in and then getting out apart from Tino who was unlucky to be given LBW.

We managed to post 229 for 7 with Phil Apps top scoring with 68 not out! Phil battled through his inning but placed great value on his wicket, which the rest of the batsmen must learn to do.

Chingford started their reply in aggressive fashion and looked to try and win the game from the off, but some smart bowling and field placings saw Fives pick up crucial wickets at cricial times!

We had to "make a game of it" by giving some runs away in the middle period when the oppo seemed to lose interest opened the game back up again but a couple of dropped catched (off the skippers bowling, no less!) and an extremely close LBW decision not being given meant that we were eunable to take the last 2 wickets!

A good game played in great spirits, enjoyed by all who took part! 20 points would have been better than 11 though!
