Match report The 2nd and very much unexpected defeat of the season at the hands of a team that we should have brushed aside with no problems what so ever!

The visitors were inserted in to bat and batted well but a lack of the team ethic ethic shown over thae past 6 weeks allowed the opposition to get a few more than they should have!

However a good fightback after the 26 over drinks break saw us restrict the oppo to 228 all out. Special mention to Dan Platt who got his first five-fer for the club and to Saul who bowled 3 fantastic spells finishing with 4 - 49. Also to an awsome running catch by Neil Brathwaite! Only that he ran over the boundry, over the bench and almost over the fence as well! He threw the ball back into play before crossing the boundary but never really had the ball under control so it was given not out!

We chased a moderate total on a good pitch poorly with only Braths really making a real mark with a fantastic 79. There were 3 turning points in our innings: Phil Apps being run out when looking solid as has has all season, Braths getting caught playing a half shot to midwicket and the dismissal of Saul who with his experience and cool head would have seen the side home.

It was not to be however and Dan Platts splendid knock of 39 not out was in vain.

A bitter loss but we went for the win all the way! A good attitude to have!

Hopefully this loss will act as a wake up call and help us to rediscover the drive, commitment and focus which we have shown in the last 6-7 weeks.
