Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won by 26 Runs

Match report Fives won the toss and elected to bat. Fives started positively but lost some early wickets that brought Rob and Young Chris to the crease. Rob (84) and Chris (36) set a partnership of 83 runs. Chris supported Rob very well and played some admirable strokes for his age. Rob as usual played his vital role of holding the game and scoring the runs as per requirement. Roger (23 no) finished with some fast aggressive hitting. Fives declared at 228 for 9 with 2.1 over to spare.
Roger opened the bowling with Chris who bowled accurately and kept the batsman thinking. Chris claimed 7-0-28-2 and took a fantastic acrobatic 2 slip catch to bring the downfall of Ilford. Rob came at later stage to clean up the tail and finished with 3-40.

Well-earned match with 20 Points in the bag. Interesting to know that with some good batting and gelled team effort we are back and 5th in the league position. If only we could have played or “let to play as a team” we could have promoted.
