Match report The bs welcomed Walthamstow to the paddock on an absolutley scorching day, winning the toss and inviting us to bat first looked to be a good move as we would have to field in the mid day heat.
Our opening bats all did sterling work against some decent bowling and although retired early set a platform for the rest of the team to kick on from.
Unfortunatley a mid order wobble left us struggling a bit on the scoreboard until Nyle steadied the ship and pushed the run rate up with some quick singles and the odd 4.
George returned late on an help get us to a respectable 115 with some lovely straight driving.
In return our bowling and fielding were really tight early on and the score looked to be too big for the stow.
Unfortunatley as we wilted in the heat Walthamstows big hitting batsman grew in confidence and decided to tee off. The gamble worked and set up a final over thriller with Walthamstow knocking off the runs with 2 balls to spare.
A shame we run out of steam here as I feel the game was ours to lose. we were maybe 10 shy on the score and the extras cost us here.
The game did however see Ewan score his first runs for 5's and against his old club, so congratulations and many more to come.
