Fives 113-5 Ilford 177-5 16th June

The bs hosted Ilford in The Len Steniford cup on a blustery day at the Whitbreads.
Ilford won the toss and elected to bat which looked to be a very good call with what proved a strong batting line up
We stuck to the task and even when their big number 5 teed off dispatching our bowlers to and over the boundary heads never went down, Alex and Nick soon had him stumped.
Jamie picked up a couple and Nathan took one both bowling good line and length proving if you consistantly put it in the right places you will get the rewards.
If we hadn't dropped 7 catches this may well have been a differant story but as it stood Ilford set a very impressive 177-5 from their 20.
Opener Ben played an excellent innings retired, with all chipping in taking us to 113-5.
This was a fantastic acheivment , Ilford have a strong bowling attack and posted a very daunting score which makes our effort all the more impressive.
We played as a team and encouraged each other on, helping to stick 100+ on the scoreboard which would be enough to beat a lot of teams. Which brings me back to those catches, it makes my session plan for Friday a lot easier....all the same well played the bs...
