Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Won by 140 runs

Match report Fives and heronians U13 side continued their outstanding season by adding the Peter Coe ( Essex U13 Matchplay ) trophy to the ECB cup and indoor title already won this season .

They beat a strong Colchester and East Essex side with 7 county players by a massive 140 runs in the 40 over final .

William Buttleman followed up his unbeaten semi final 140 with another marathon innings of 121 and with the help of in form Tom Kelsey 51 and dan stone 37 fives posted a really decent 240 for 4 .

Buttlemans effort was an absolutely outstanding effort . He showed super concentration and a wide array of strokes . This really was a match winning effort setting Fives up a good total to defend .

In the field the champions were nearly flawless . Outstanding opening bowling by Tom Kelsey and skipper Harry Samuel conceding only 18 runs off the first 10 over spell including the last 5 overs being maidens .
Samuel clean bowed the Colchester opener and two more wickets came from the pressure created during this spell to run outs both by Stone .
With the game almost sealed it was left for the two Fives spinners to keep the pressure up . Gandhi and Buttleman bowled beautifully with the former taking three wickets and Buttleman cleaning up the tail .
Dan stone took the 10th wicket which fittingly was caught by skipper samuel to win the trophy . The teams fielding and captains field positions particularly were absolutely superb on the day and Colchester could only manage 100 runs .

A fantastic achievement for the club and a wonderful occasion .

The 13s now face either Loughton or Wanstead in the Len Stentiford cup final to complete an unprecedented 4 trophies .
