Match report The first match of the season for a team who I’m sure have high hopes of lifting the title.
We won the toss and batted.
With George and Bill both retired all played their part here, Charles played an anchor role and the rest all played their shots around him, posting 106 we looked a competitive side.
We bowled equally well with Fin holding good lines and Alex and Nick forcing catches and a stumping.
South never gave up and with their opener returning he batted fantastically. Although he was run out at the death he saw them through to a well-earned draw.
Truth be told we let South back into this one and a couple of dropped catches cost us 4 points.
Let’s hope we learn from this, we will need to smarten up if we are genuinely looking to push for the title.
