Match report After a nail biting win against ilford the week before, the fives first team looked to build upon their encouraging start to the season. After winning the toss, Ballard elected to take the field.

Tight opening spells from Ali and Ballard frustrated the opening pair and fives managed to claim the wicket of the opener Lidgott for just 4 runs. However the partnership between the other opener Cordingly and number 3 Darby made up for the early loss of Lidgott.

Wicket to Wicket bowling by part timer Gary "Sheeny" Edwards stopped the momentum of the hertford innings and was able to pick up a well deserved 2 wickets backed up by the spinning wizard that is dan platt.

Eratic but wicket splitting bowling by bock Josh Peters caught the hertford batsmen by surprise by bowling the odd straight ball and managed to pick up 4 wickets which cleaned Hertford up for just 214.

New opening partnership of Edwards and Reynolds got the innings off to a patient but solid start, but Reynolds fell to a superb catch by the Hertford gully for just 5. Phil Apps followed quickly for only 7.

Edwards carried on in his usual patient way and scored an anchoring 56 backed up by a fireworks display from ballard who destroyed the bowling to all parts.
Ben Britton followed in Ballards footsteps smashing 47 runs from probably half the balls. Fives finished in style with a superb 6 wicket victory which hopefully will spark many more wins this season.
