Match report What a match, played by 9 players only!!!!!!!!!!!

We were late to get there and started late with only 7 players. 2 were further delayed in traffic.

Fives won the toss and was forced to bat first due to above reasons, on a wicket that had a lot of moisture in it. Shahrukh Irfan who is the ususal opener for the 3rds along With Ali Raza who usually bats at no.4 for the 3rd team, went out to open.

The first 10 overs saw a careful 33 runs on the board as the pitch was slow and the ball was swinging. In the next 16 overs our score raced to 126 with some beautiful stroke making from Shahrukh and Ali. At 126 in 25.5 overs, shahrukh departed the pitch with a beautifully struck 58.

None of the other batsman got into double figures but everyone supported Ali Raza who took the score to the total of 279 in the next 19 overs. He ended with a score of 191 which included 16 4s and 14 6s and many lost balls (9 or 10 I guess). Towards the end of the inings Zayan supported Ali well for 7 overs by holding his end and ended up a not out.

After tea the captain was faced with another challenge. There were only two regular bowlers playing, Shahrukh and Ali. They both bowled beautifully and were very well supported by other bowlers particularly Jack (He keeps wicket Usually) and all the fielders including David behind the stumps and Mark, Zayan, Sohail and Lewis in the field.

A great positive today was that we played as a team, we fielded well, held onto our catches.

Well done all!!!, specially Ali Raza for his 191 and 4 wickets!!!!!!!!
