Match report The 13s kicked off their season with a home match against Walthamstow.
We won the toss and asked the Stow to bat.
The two openers started well putting on 30 before Charles cleaned up the no 2 for the first of his 4 wickets.
Once George had the big hitting opener caught behind the Stow put up little resistance although to be fair we bowled fantastically at times with Finley returning down the hill and Nyle, Joe and Nathan all picking up wickets.
Joseph's catch and a final ball run out saw Walthamstow post 78 all out.
We started well in response and although 2 and 3 went cheaply Bill rode his luck and got what proved valuable runs.
It was left to Joe to Shepard the lower order through and when he finally went, caught top scoring on 23 with 7 to get we still looked favourites.
Cameos from Adam and Patrick left our last pair to knock the runs off.
Nyle and Ewan managed to scramble a few leaving 2 to win from the final ball.
One quick bye and a run out on the return saw us squeeze a draw.
A dead heat same score, wickets and run rate, great drama but a logistical nightmare for the cup organisers.
A good start with some fantastic bowling putting us in a strong position, with patience and application I'm sure the runs will come and hopefully I won't be completely grey by the end of the season.
