Match report Fives and Heronians last game of the 2014 season saw them romp home by 100 runs.
Winning the toss and electing to bat Fives got off to a useful start with Rahul Patel and OJ scoring freely until OJ was out for 21,Richard Tootell coming in at 3 against his former club soon departed for 0 to the delight of the opposition and his brother. Liam Hill who plays for South Loughton scored a well crafted 40,Michael Batt finished his season with a fluent 20 until he was out to a sharp catch at slip. Fives were in trouble now at 140 for 7, Jake Poulter and Andre Byfield added 130 in the last 15 overs to take the score off 40 overs to 273. Jake finishing on 71 and Andre 52.
A steady start from the oppo saw the score get to 40 until they lost their first wicket with ten overs gone. Charles and Harry Allen were introduced into the attack. Charles bowled a good line and length and was unlucky no to get a wicket, his brother did not disappoint bowling with great flight and good length which saw Harry tease a couple of their batsman into making rash shots and ended up taking two wickets which were thoroughly deserved. These two boys look like they will be really good players when they get a bit older. Michael Batt then took 3 wickets for one run to rip the heart out of the opposition to wrap up a hundred run win. A very enjoyable last game of the season.
