Match report Fives lost by 6 wickets against league leaders Ilford whom you could argue are the best all round side in the division
Neil lost the toss for the 5th consecutive game after a delay for rain but we made a blistering start with OJ regularly finding the boundary leaving Braths in the shade. We were 70 for 0 off 10 which was a fantastic platform. KD came in at three and also batted well with some lovely shots combined with other players in the side chipping in (Nick, Rohan and James) we posted a competitive 227 for 9 off 45 overs, by far our best batting performance of the season which although might not say a lot it is progress. Ilford came out with all guns blazing to take advantage of the fielding restrictions and in between some lusty blows we picked up three wickets to leave the game finely poised However, we were not to make any further inroads as Ilford 4th wicket put on 170 despite the bowlers admirable efforts, especially James Mckay, as Ilford ran out comfortable winners in the end. As much as it hurts sometimes you have to hold your hands up and say the opposition were better than us. However, if we keep this level of performance up and improve on a few areas there is no reason we cannot beat other sides in the division
