Match report Fives welcomed two new players, Muzaffar Latif and Fahad Haider who both made promising starts. F&H batted first but unfortunately a combination of loose shots by some of the batters and very steady bowling by Shenfield's star performer of the season who bowled unchanged from one end meant we were dismissed for 117. Young Alex Williams in his first and last (for various reasons) match of the summer batted impressively for 36 not out, holding the tail together very well.
Shenfield's reply started strongly but with 6 bowlers tried and frequent bowling changes we mmanaged to take 5 wickets defending an inadequate total. All the bowlers performed well with Portia picking up 2 in 2 balls and a very welcome, if tentative, return to bowling by Uriel being the pick with 1 for 8 off five overs. Hopefully his back will survive his first bowling spell after a year recovering from a very serious injury.
