Match report Unfortunately we lost the toss on a hot day and Orsett unsurprisingly batted first on a good track, no doubt expecting 25 points. A really tight opening spell, particularly from Uriel, and new player Simran built the pressure and when our other debutant Thuva came on he bowled one of the struggling openers in his first over. Thuva then cleaned up the other opener with extra pace but this brought in a Felsted School 1st XI star playing well below his true level who carted everyone for 112* off 71 balls. (I hope he felt pleased with himself.)

A good declaration left us requiring 244 to win off about 50 overs. We got off to a fast start thanks to that man Uriel again, this time in partnership with young Fahad. Both batted extremely well going at better than a run a ball with 4 fours each and changing the whole tone of the game. Thuva, in at number 3 to capitalise on the good start, struck the ball with exceptional power for a 16 year old with his 50 coming off just 29 balls. Four of his 6 sixes comfortably cleared the 20ft high hedge 75 yards behind the bowler. After a mid-innings wobble, Simran batted with classy composure and Alex smashed two fours to take us over the line with many overs to spare.
