Match report Fives lost the toss and were inserted on a damp track giving plenty of assistance to the bowlers. Uriel (circumspect) and Fahad (assertive) got us off to a great start in the conditions with 39 coming up in 9 overs. The middle order then followed its usual pattern of gentle subsidence before a great partnership of over a 100 by Latif and Neil Saunders which broke the 16 year old record for the 4th team's 8th wicket held by Rob Allum and Kev Townsend. After a great knocck Neil was last man out, miraculously caught but leaving us with 5 overs unused.

In the conditions, 207 was a decent score but not beyond Wanstead who were lying third in the League. A very fast opening spell by new boy Pirak rattled the Wanstead openers, one of whom was trapped plumb in front by a rapid inswinging yorker. At the other end Uriel was denied another plumb LBW by blind /biased umpiring. When Thuva replaced his brother he picked up a couple of wickets clean bowled with fast straight deliveries. At the other end, Uriel's secong spell produced three wickets and the game was heading for a tight finish when rain and appalling light brought an end to play with 10 overs remaining. This was an excellent performance by F&H against strong opposition.
