Match report Fives elected to field on an overcast afternoon and immediately sprung into life with Jack Jerrom (17 for 4) and Roger Brathwaite (7 for 5) bowling full and straight (exactly what the conditions required), blowing away the Chingford top order. We seized the early initiative by putting their batsmen under intense pressure with most of the side fielding in catching positions and quickly reduced the visitors to 30odd for 9! With some good catching (top job done by Ragi behind the stumps) and the odd half chance dropped we were made to patiently wait for the final wicket, which Roger took coming back into the attack after useful spells from Hamad and Waqas.
Resisting the lure of an early tea we decided to go straight back out to knock off the small target. Conditions hadn't improved greatly and we struggled to get going with Dan, Anthony Palmer and Hoops being dismissed cheaply. Chingford attempted to further upset the momentum that Vinay and Captain for the day Ben built, but it was to no avail as some positive shots followed to get us home by 4.10pm!
Overall a very professional performance by an ever strengthening 3rd XI side.
