Match report We were asked to bat first on a warm and breezy day. The wicket had a tinge of green on top so the 1st 10 overs were going to key. However, at 48 for 1 after 10 overs we looked in a strong position. A 126 run 2nd wicket partnership was vital. However, it could have been different if difficult catches had been held by South Woodford. Congratulations to Jack Jerrom on his 1st league century for the club. His 128 included - 23 x 4s and 1 x 6. Nick Tester and Aqeel Kadri batted well in support. At 252 for 6 after 41.4 overs at 3.45 we elected to declare.

In reply. South Woodford batted steadily through out with all their top line batsman making 20 but none going on to make the big fifty plus score required. Vikram bowled really well in to the wind early on and took the vital wicket of the South Woodford skipper. It was left to their middle order to take up the challenge which they did to good effect. Requiring 52 off the last 7 overs with 4 wickets remaining the game hung in the balance. The key was when M Carvell (57) was bowled by Yaz after having just hit him for a large 6. Jack Jerrom then came on in a fiery spell and took 3 wickets in 8 balls to mop up the tail with an over to spare. In the end we would have bowled 52 overs. Congratulations to South Woodford on playing the game so positively.
