Match report Fives won the toss and put Wnastead in on a very soft wicket. Dayal, father and son, opened the bowling and conceded ony 25 from the first 11 overs. A tidy spell from Sibley jr was followed by another from Manraj and these two twelve year olds were a credit to the Club. Faisal bowled briskly on a dead track and looked dangerous when he pitched the ball up. Uncle Bob wheeled away without his usual control but managed to pick up a couple of wickets. After a tidy spell by Gurtej, Manraj was brought back for the last couple of overs and continued to bowl straight and full while Wanstead attempted to smach their way to 200 and was rewarded with three more wickets to record his first "fivefer" in adult cricket.

Continuing the father and son theme, a pair of Sibley's opened the batting against a very good Wanstead attack which proved too much for the early Fives batters with 4 quick wickets. Graham and Gurtej stopped the rot and played with good judgement until an umpiring error did for Graham, the ball having pitched outside leg stump. Saul briefly threatened to regain the initiative but was undone by a short one that got stuck in the pitch. Manraj then batted sensibly with his brother but once Gurtej went, the end was swift.

Overall, the bowling, fielding and catching were excellent but the team needs runs from the captain and other early batters, Graham notably excepted.
