Match report Having lost the toss Fives were sentenced to a long hot session in the field. Unfortunately the bowlers did not apply themselves well and the lessons on bowling full and straight which had served us so well in our winning streak were forgotten as a series of short and wide deliveries were crashed to the boundary. Fielding standards also slipped, with the notable exception of yound Humzah who pulled off some excellent stops and showed unrelenting energy in the field. After Old Parks declared on 259 - 4 off 40 overs, Fives struggled with the bat. Only Mikey with another good 50 showed the required application as a succession of poor strokes and lack of application saw the middle and late order blown away. Stout defence by the last three batters as we inched towards another batting point was undone when Humzah gloved a lifter through to the keeper.
The team must now put this disappointment behind them and work hard for the next three games to win the League.
