Match report Fives won the toss and batted on a damp wicket. Some very brisk Wanstead bowling was encountered with increasingly confident play by Kula and Adita. After Jake's early departure the aging captain was slow to get going but supported Adita as the 100 was raised in the 19th over. Almost all the middle order and tail made runs at a decent rate yto get us to 226 in the final over. Particular mention must go to Jamie Porter flailing violently at the Wanstead quicks from somewhere near the square leg umpire.... In fairness, the light was not that good.

In reply, Wanstead were indebted to a fine century by their operner standing firm while all around him were chiselled out - only two other batters reached double figures. There was noteworthy bowling from young James Sibley and Chris Campbell and two very fine catches by Jake Lloyd. These were the bright spots as at least five catches went down which could have proved costly. Despite this, a good win was achieved to start the 15/40 campaign after last season's disappointments.
