Match report A mixed bag this week but the unbeaten run in the league still continues. After loosing the toss.....again, Fives were licking our lips as Ardleigh Geen chose to bat and were 20-4. However after a very good opening spell some loose bowling and a few missed chances meant Ardleigh Geen progressed to drinks with out loosing any more wickets and rollocked along at 7 an over. After the break the bowling tightened up and began to put the pressure back on but not before Ardleigh managed 249-9 from their 50 overs. Shout out to Aqueel who was the pick of the bowlers with 4-52.

After the beak break fives started positively with 17 coming from the opening over and taking it to the bowling attack. Unfortunately the start was cut shot as Joe picked out the short Mid on which led to the introduction of the very mercurial innings of Billy Amas who did his best Geoff Boycott impression for 10 over or so and had even the opposition laughing. Whilst that was going on Hamza carried on his great form by knocking off his fifty and playing some lovely shots. Cameo starts from Nick and Simran meant it looked like a draw was a shoe in until Charles 'Muscles' Allen decided a draw wasn't good enough and put his long leavers and new bat to good use scoring a quick fire fifty to make all three results possible going into the final 5. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be as he after he skied one and we settled for a draw after a good and entertaining game of cricket.
