Match report Put into bat by Wanstead, Fives never really came to terms with the excellent wanstead attack. Foley was well caught in the gully followed by the inform Braithwaite, this signalled an alarming collapse with a mixture of good bowling and poor shot selection. At 58-7 Poulter joined Gully taking the score to 95 before Gully was bowled for 23. Poulter decided it was time to attack the Wanstead bowling and managed to get the score to 139 before he was the last man out caught on the boundary for 48.
Fives immediatley got the break through they wanted off the bowling of Declaitteroisse. Brendan Smith followed up with 2 wickets including the dangerous Hinton who was well caught in the Gully by Steve Poulter. At 30-3 Wanstead wavered but some good running and punishment of the bad ball took wanstead to 70, before they lost their next wicket. Four chances went down which really costs Fives any chance of pulling off a victory. A couple of wickets fell at the death, wanstead ran out winners by 4 wickets. Fives showed a lot of fight in the field but ultimatley the batting was the main factor and 139 was never going to be enough against any side, let alone a Wanstead side packed with 1st team players.
