Match report A somewhat turgid batting display (Slams honourably excepted) was the inevitable result of a slow pitch, ealy season rustiness and accurate Brentwood bowling. All the batsmen were able to get established with an excellent comeback from Simon opening after a number of years of sporadic appearances. However, none were able to press on and with both captain and vice captain overestimating their running speed (both comfortably run out) and Ritchie out-Dystering Dyster with a 42 ball duck, the declaration came after 63 overs. The captain having been chastised at tea for batting on too long, Brentwood put matters in perspective by taking full toll of some very wayward bowling to win by 10 wickets with 9 overs to spare, the captain's tea time talk urging the bowlers to bowl straight having being answered with 31 wides. Nuff said!!
