Match report Fives lost the toss and were asked to field first. The makeshift opening attack of McKay snr and Rotsey snr saw Stow reach 45 without loss in the first 12 obers which included 12 byes. The introduction of Maddo's crafty offers steadied the pace with only 3 off his first 3 overs. At the other end, Luke Bauckham finally made his debut for Fives and had his first bowl for three years, a tidy spell in which he finally made a breakthrough in the 27th over. When he was rested Stow started to accelerate against the younger bowlers making 106 off the last 14 overs to close on 247-3.

With Fives having bowled their overs reasonably quickly, about 55 overs were available which meant that with a good start all things were poosible. Luke and the trusty Clive opened well putting on 51 for the first wicket in 12 overs. Unfortunately Luke's departure was followed in the next over by vice captian and captin cleaned out by excellent inswing bowling and causing a lengthy period of consolidation by Simon and Commander Greene putting on 66 in 22 overs. With herioc thoughts of making 140 in the last 20 overs, Simon advanced to a loopy legger and departed without contact. Sighjts were re-adjusted to the bonus point marks of 175-200 as Tim again supported well. When the Commander finally departed for an excellent 39 proceedings were much enlivened by Tom Alcorn's nonchalent and self-effacing approach striking 2 enormous sixes on his way to 21 in 11 minutes. Good runs also came from Lewis Forman on his debut but after his departure for 16 off 18 balls the innings subsided swiftly for 182 with 5 overs left.
