Match report Following a start delayed for 20 minutes by wet conditions, Fives' Walters and Raguraj opened the attack very steadily, Walters being unlucky not to pick up more than the one wicket. Smart work by Tricky Wilson behind the stumps ran out the other opener and when he took a catch off the skipper's variable medium pace and followed with a catch and stumping off succesive balls from Maddo he had had a hand in all the first 5 wickets. After a further 10 minutes lost to rain Wanstead declared on 205-6 off 47 overs. With Fives expecting to get a similar number of overs back and needing a win, a positive start was made by Clive and Tony Teece putting 43 for the first wicket in good time. Tony continued with a mixture of blazing shots and airy wafts against the Wanstead quicks before running himself out needlessly for 43 but with the score at 100-3 and 21 overs to go Fives were in good shape. As the rain started and serious gloom descended, OJ and the skipper took 27 off the next three and a half overs before conditions deteriorated to the point where further play truly was unrealistic leaving the Fourths sadly frustrated at the missed opportunity.
