Match report A glorious sunny day and another lovely ground with the temptation of a road to aim at one end and a canal the other. Adam Peters should take the plaudits in the field for cleaning up their Tasmanian batsman first ball sending his off stump cartwheeling, something the bowlers in the Sheffield Shield final struggled to do while he was compiling his century there and taking a further three wickets!! Apart from having to field with 10 men for the second half of their innings after Matt Sutton suffered a nearly life threatening thumb injury, we restricted them to just 218 when they generously declared owing to not having any other batsmen padded up creully denying Terry the chance of a hattrick! Mords will have to set a suitably attacking field next Saturday when Terry comes on! On a friendly track with relatively friendly bowling the scene was set for Gary to get back in the runs ahead of next week's league game. Unfortunately he only lasted three balls and was later shown up by 14 year old Eddie Holden as he raced to three in his first three balls. By then the game was won however thanks to a dashing hundred from Chris White, despite Bertie giving him out when the scoreboard said he was on 99 (!), and a slightly less dashing fifty from the skipper. Let's hope for good availability next Sunday (when the family can be seen on bank holiday instead!) as we make the short journey to Bexley.
