Match report To say that I took a team to this picturesque ground with particularly picturesque supporters would be stretching the truth somewhat, never-the-less, the eight of us that made the short journey through the Blackwall tunnel had a very enjoyable day out, even if we did end up disappointingly on the wrong end of the result in a game we should never really have lost. Bexley were kind enough to lend us a player for the day and provide us with an extra fielder so that we had 10 in the field, if only 9 batsmen and their players had a very good day for us fielding and bowling well. Adam Peters again bowled well at the start of the innings bowling some good bouncers on an indifferent and essentially low track. Sooty got back into the wickets having had a somewhat slow start to the league season so hopefully he will be able to translate this to next week's game. I'm sure the opportunity to get some overs under his belt without the pressures of league cricket will have been beneficial to him. Bexley made 141 which I felt was eminently gettable despite our shortage of batsmen. Unfortunately, as happened in the twos on Saturday, almost no-one contributed and we fell 20 runs short. Tom Yallp played well for his fifty hitting some very nice drives but really the only other highlight of the innings was our specialist first team No. 8, batting in his favourite position, being bowled by their fifth team scorer! All those who made the journey had an enjoyable day out however.
