Match report Lost the toss and were inserted on a damp track. Great opening stand in the conditions of over 30 by the legendary JT (n.b. struck a 4 to extra cover all along the ground!) and new boy Arbaz. After JT went caught at the wicket hooking off the back of the bat when one stuck in the boggy pitch, we struggled. Danny batted really well in trying circumstances, Neil was caught on the longest boundary blaming the bat he borrowed from Deano as a bit gutless with only the other new boy Taha reaching double figures. A total of 99 was never likely to be enough but we made a great start with Awais picking up 3 for 26 despite being on the Ramadan fast. He got a wicket in the first over thanks to a brilliant slip catch very low to his right by Neil, fielding out of position at the request of the skipper. Soon after, Arbaz at short cover hung on to fierce hit high to his right and when stand-in keeper Asama made a lot of ground towards square leg, Epping were three down for less than 30 and F&H were in with a shout. Epping consolidated and it took the introduction of our two youngest players, U14's Rayn and Will, to get us back into the game. Both bowled well with Rayn bagging one wicket and Will two. Both also fielded very well and were a credit to our Colts Section. Unfortunately we hadn't made enough runs and Epping slogged their way home as the wicket eased under the sun.
