Fives and Heronians Cricket Club Lost By 3 Wickets

Match report Fives lost the toss and were invited to bat on a wet wicket. Runs were very difficult to come by as the first wicket stand put on 42 on 23 overs although it could of easily been far worse. However F&H looked well set at 77-2 off 32 overs to achieve a 150+ score. However wickets start to fall as the middle order started to hit out too early. At 119-9 the situation looked grim. However a unbeaten last wicket stand of 18 allowed Fives to achieve a 137-9.

In reply Hornchurch lost 2 early wickets which put F&H in with a slim chance of a win. However, a 3rd wicket stand put them well in control of the situation. With 15 runs to win Hornchurch suddenly lost a few wickets and thanks to Yaz (4-31 from 11 overs) they struggled across the winning post 7 down. Some good catches were held.
