Match report Following the numerous calls made to all the Over 40s in the club, the skipper finally managed to raise a six. This included dealing with a late cry-off from Bob Speller (baby-sitting duties!). So thanks and Christmas cheer goes to all those that made the trip to Chelmsford this evening.

F&H won the toss and elected to bat. Jon Thurston was soon striking the ball sweetly. After 4 overs Jon had retired on 27 with the score on 36. Stan and Mark batted steadily in the middle although the shot of the innings was a first ball 6 from Derek. With 14 runs coming in the last over including a 4 off the last ball, we broke the important 100 barrier.

In reply, Old Brentwoods were put under pressure from the front-line bowlers straight away. Eventually this pressure told when the skipper ran out their skipper Chris Lee. Wickets continued to fall as the F&H spin attack applied the brakes. The skipper also bowled two overs of flight and guile including an excellent catch at Mid Off following a mis-timed drive. Mark then took a further catch off Derek and achieved 2 wickets in the last over (stumped Stan). An enjoyable Friday evening was had by all.

End of season report - JT topped the batting averages with 110. Never mind Neil better try harder next season. The skipper topped the bowling averages. In total 12 players were employed by the side this winter with Simon, Clive and Mark playing all 6.
