Match report A strong on paper but injury prone in reality team took the field against Wanstead after winning the toss.

Norris was stuck in traffic so did not arrive until around 1.30. Brathwaite reported an injured back following the warm up which meant he was unable to bend in the field. Nevertheless, a solid start with the ball saw Wanstead at around 40-2 in the 10th over before Coleman pulled up lame with a recurrence of last seasons calf injury. With White and Ballard coming into the match at less than 100% fitness, the strategy for the remainder of the innings was simply to rely on the able bodied to support the less fortunate and keep the scoring down as best they could. With a considerable amount of mis-fielding from the whole team Wanstead amassed a daunting 296-8 declared from their 52 Overs. Ashfaq was the pick of the bowlers although his figures did not benefit for the bulk of the mis-fielding which took place.

Adcock and Brathwaite started the F&H reply at a good pace dispatching the youthful Wanstead opening attack with aplomb until Brathwaite was out LBW. However, an attacking field and wayward bowling from Wanstead ensured White and Norris continued the scoring rate with ease. At the start of the last hour F&H needed just under 7 an over but the introduction of Ballard and the imperious progress of Adcock to his 100, saw that rate drop quickly to just under 5 an over. Despite the loss of a couple of wickets and the threat of abandonment to a rain shower, Adcock saw F&H home with 5 overs to spare to complete a great win!
