Match report On an extremely hot day Fives won the toss and elected to field, Kay made an early break through. Several chances were put down before Wheeler had their opener caught for 50.Hadleigh number 3 carried his bat for 112 allowing Hadleigh to declare on 249 from 50.3 overs. Kay took three wickets, Wheeler two, Coleman and Harding one a piece.
Britton and Braithwaite opened the batting and Britton was soon finding the middle of the bat, before departing to a long hop for 23 out of a stand of 25. Whorlow and Braithwaite looked comfortable until Braiths was run out for 10, whorlow and Nick Rotsey soon followed and fives were reeling at 67-4. Swash and Poulter however took the game to Hadleigh with some aggressive batting, 102 partnership saw fives to 169 with 20 overs left. Swash made an excellent 55 before being out LBW. Coleman came and went, Poulter soon followed for 58. Kay and Neary put together an unbeaten 47 for the ninth wicket to see Fives home by two wickets and three balls to spare. Kay finished on 38 not out and Neary 14 not out. A good team performance keeps Fives in touch with league leaders Colchester.
