Match report Stinking hot day in Chigwell for this much anticipated derby.

On his return to the Paddock 6 years after the big 'defection', Buckhurst Hill skipper Dan Platt led his well drilled unit in the expectation of victory and to romp clear of the pack at the halfway stage of the season.

Fives won the toss and chose to bat on a belter of a track and soon looked in trouble as the experienced stagers all fell to good pressure bowling. Bradley Knapman at no stage looked in danger though and at 70-4 was joined by Chris 'Chalky' White and together played well to post a partnership of 120 odd before Knapman was out for a magnificently constructed 115.
In the line of Javed Miandad, Knapo stuck to the principle of getting behind the line of the ball and playing straight. A message delivered to Knapo during the weeks training session with Master Coach 'Carlos Remy'. Get to training on Wednesday nights 6-8.30pm to refine your game. White followed soon after for 38 extremely valuable runs. The tail wagged to finish on 243-7 of 52.

As the temperature rose, The Hill pursued the total with that of a team high on confidence and picked off the Fives bowling to race away to a good start. Mustansar again gave nothing away and Coleman was unlucky with several chances going to ground. As the situation looked helpless albeit for not want of effort, Coleman stood up and dragged Fives back into it first by dismissing Reynolds for 107 then putting paid to Platt's thoughts of a glorious captains knock ending with 3 wickets and involved in 2 run outs. Stuart Knapman continued the good work with the ball before Allum joined the party in the last over to perform a run out to halt Maskell on 114. With 3 needed of the last delivery, The Hill managed to scramble two runs to draw the match on tied scores.

Great result for Fives that sees them off the bottom of the table.
